In Like Flynn

I started educating the midget brother in the wonders of classic film. Movie of choice: 1938's The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn. I figured the sword fights and the manliness of the whole thing would appeal. And oh man, is it manly.

I wish straight men still wore tights. And I wish people still used the word swashbuckling on a regular basis.

Also today, while still in the swashbuckling spirit of things, I practiced archery with midget brother. I need a lot of practice. However I did manage to hit the target on four separate occasions. And, as an added bonus, nothing was broken/hurt.

In the literature part of my life, which is squeezed somewhere between work, swim lessons, and college stuff, I finished The Man Who Was Thursday, which I actually really liked. I'm still getting my head around it. It goes from  trippy to really exciting and then really trippy with an insanely ambiguous ending, but it left me with a literary high. Assuming I have the time, I'm planning a reread and I'll probably check out some of his other stuff.

My music life right now is pretty dull. I am stuck listening to 99.5 and 98.7 ALL DAY. It's terrible. I could go into a rant about it but it'd take too long and I'm too lazy. The only relief I get is when one of the guards plays "Amie" by Pure Prairie League. It's seriously a godsend after listening to "I wanna be a billionaire" or "Undo it" for the 12th freaking time. The only way to get "In my Head" out of my head is put on my Grateful Dead mix and veg out.

To finish this post off ere is a selection from what I call the Work Recovery playlist
