I’m finally writing a substantial post!!!! I should be doing doing the vast amount of reading for film class (yes, I actually have to do shit for my film class… wtf right?), and while I’m on the topic Citizen Kane is a pretty amazing movie when its been analyzed to the core. Still not my fave but I can appreciate it.
The title of this post refers to my dorm. I’m room 444 on the 4th floor, which I think is pretty awesome. The whole 4th floor and the guys from 2nd floor are actually pretty freaking sweet. We have dance parties outside our dorm and sing-alongs (hence Cauthappella). Our specialty is Wonderwall. We’re gonna be big.
3rd floor Cauthen on the other hand sucks. They don’t talk to people and all they do is study and get angry when people try to be nice and sociable.
We also have the laundry room and air conditioning. woot.
So college is pretty awesome. I miss home sometimes but the whole independence things rocks. Class still sucks but the weekends make up for it. My philosophy class is awesome because the professor looks incredibly philosophical. He is old and peruvian and most importantly BEARDED.
Skip to 3:50 and that’s him.
He is basically a skinnier version of Socrates. And he is wickedly smart. Other classes include plant bio, intro to social psych, Spanish and the aforesaid film class. You could look at my schedule in two ways… total slacker courses or exploring a wide variety of interests. I am actually going to argue for easy courses first semester. It gives you more time to acclimate and meet people etc.etc. Plus who wants to work. (I’m actually not that lazy. I did my psych reading at the gym… on an elliptical!)
i joined the outdoors club but we haven’t done anything yet and I’m also thinking about adopting a gran-friend. I feel like old people and I have a lot in common. We could talk about Al Jolson and Charlie Chaplin and whatnot and complain about today’s youth.
This just makes me ridiculously happy…
Anyway its almost 1 and I have to get up at 7, walk across campus, and somehow get through Spanish… GOOOOOOD NIGHT!
YOU'VE BEEN TO THE GYM???
ReplyDelete...weirdo. however, i like your beardy professor. and booo film classes aren't slacker classes! they're...important. so we can develop a good sense of filminess. idk. oh, and i want a video of wonderwall when it's perfected.
Sound awesome! Just so you know, 4 is incredibly unlucky in Chinese and Japanese. Good thing you're not studying them then, right? :D Love the Andrews Sisters. I'm jealous of your functioning AC.
ReplyDeletei place my seal of approval on this entire post. hooray for spanish and film! and please make old friends, even if it's just for our benefit.
